Our trail system is supported by the state Grant-In-Aid system. As such, the Snowmobile State Trail sticker is required and may be purchased in a number of places, including your local license bureau or any Electronic Licensing System agent. The funds raised by this sticker go directly into the Grant-In-Aid system and are used strictly for snowmobiling.
The DNR website has complete information regarding this, as well as snow depth and other information.

NO PASSPORT? WANT TO AVOID CROSSING THE BORDER? Stay in Minnesota! Easy, no hassle and a nice snowmobile ride! Park your vehicle at the Warroad City park (just past the casino) at the mouth of the Warroad River and take the groomed snowmobile trail from there to the Angle, approximately 40 miles. Or, park your vehicle on the ice at Wheeler Point at the mouth of the Rainy River close to Baudette and take the groomed snowmobile trail to the Angle, again about 40 miles. There are resorts in the Wheeler Point area that may allow you to park your car on their premises with permission. Check out our trail map!
